  We had a very pleasant stay at hotel marquesa. Service was really good, considering we had a date issue on our reservation a d they helped us to changed it with booking at no extra cost. The hotel itself is very nice, it feels like entering an authentic canarian house. The pool on the rooftop is also very nice. We didn't try the food sadly but could see live music at night.

  Lovely location in the square with shops all around we were at the back of the hotel which was quieter.

  I was very disappointed with this hotel. The reception staff were very unhelpful and never acknowledged me in the month I spent there. The room was terrible. It was barren of any facilities. It was on the side of the hotel. There was a narrow walkway outside which I found was used regularly by skateboarders and the next hotel was only about 6 meters away. I was on the first of six floors. I couldn't see the sky or anything but a brick wall. I wasn't made aware by the travel agent that there was a clock opposite the hotel that chimed the quarter hours and the hour from 7am until 11pm and the Catholic church also announced each mass with a long peal of bells. There were dogs barking most of the time even at 4am in the morning. I even bought earplugs but they didn't drown out the constant noise. I requested a move but was informed that this was one of the only 3 rooms that had a shower cubicle that I had requested and the other two were situated in the same area. I only booked bed and breakfast because I read on other reviews that the food was poor. They were right. Any food that was cooked was always cold or burnt or in the case if eggs only half cooked. I booked the hotel because if it's location in the centre of the old town but that was it's only good feature. Do not even think of this place if you want a bit of peace and comfort. If Gordon Ramsay ever does ' Hotels from Hell' in the canaries I will certainly recommend he has a look at this one.

  Beautiful hotel dating back to 1712 with a fabulous glass-roofed interior patio. Very characterful. Outdoor seating with a comprehensive menu - relax and watch the world go by!

  Birthday but after our meal I asked the waitress for it , it was obvious they had forgotten because they bought me a frozen one to our table still wrapped up which spoilt the occasion and then to make things
