  After complaining with the waiter I didn't receive any apology, nada. The owner of the restaurant didn't apologise either and treated me really rudely. I wonder why the place was the only one empty in town..

  I ordered a paella and it tasted like a frozen one, the rice was undercooked, the fish wasn't fresh, clams and mussels tasted like they were a few days old. I almost chocked on a fishbone that was hidden in the rice.

  I guess the owner paid for the five star reviews on here or something. I feel sorry for the wife of the owner who was the only one saying a quiet "lo siento" to me while I was walking out.

  We have been eating all nights and I can say that La Papaya is the best restaurant that we have been. Just arrive and after order our drinks they gave us a small glass of sweet white wine as an appetiser. We order gazpacho, fish soup, croquettes, mussels with white wine and a octopus salad. All were incredible and good price. Definitely we will recommend that place and we will come back.

  Having read a good Lonely Planet review of which have lead us to several amazing restaurant's on Tenerife we were very disappointed to have such a horrendous dinner. I was served mussels with white wine when I had ordered marinara and the seafood was clearly defrosted and not good. Then, I got a very dry sole fish which I returned and then a equally dry sole again after much frowning from the owner. On top of this my boyfriend was served microwaved lamb - apparently they're speciality. It was truly the worst meal I've had in years...

  Wonderful setting, with open air tables to the rear of the restaurant. Seafood risotto to die for. Will return.
